Sancta Missa

Catholic America

These old Catholic churches used to be the center of the neighborhoods in which they were built. Literally thousands of people would attend Mass at churches just like this. Today, this church, Holy Trinity, is closed.

The Catholics that lived in this once thriving neighborhood have all moved to the modern suburbs, sealing the fate of this beautiful parish church.

Catholic America

The Roman Catholic vote in the Unites States still matters. And with the Supreme Court's ruling today, that has become even more evident.

4 of the Catholic Justices on the court voted to rule the Obama health care law unconstitutional.

Catholics won't disappear from the public eye, we will keep fighting for freedom!

The Society of St. Pius X

The Superior of the SSPX Bishop Bernard Fellay is currently considering an agreement with the Holy See to return to full communion with the See of Peter.

There is fear though, that if Bishop Fellay accepts the agreement, that the Fraternity may very well split. So, there is a possibility that the entire group as it's known today may not entire reconcile. That would be devastating, and Bishop Fellay has himself even expressed his hope that it will not happen and that he himself couldn't fully say whether the group would stay in tact or not.

All we can do is hope for the best, and pray for a positive outcome for the current process.

The Two Popes

Pope John Paul II after his "Papal Inauguration" in 1978 with Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, the future Pope Benedict XVI

Pope Paul VI

Pope Paul VI is known best for establishing the Novus Ordo Mass in 1969. Ever since there has been controversy surrounding it. The modern Catholic Liturgy needs a reform to return it to holiness and sacredness which has unfortunately been discarded. The only solution: return to the Latin Mass.

Lefebvre: Defender of The Faith

Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre was a saint among the sinful modernists of the era of Vatican II. If not for him, the beauty of the traditional Latin Rite of the Mass, the true Mass, would be lost today. Deo gratias!

The Second Vatican Council

This year 2012 AD marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council by Pope John XXIII. This council has been the cause for a many great controversies and issues. The liberals within the Holy Church developed doctrine that was heresy. They defied Canon Law in several of the council's documents, and ignored papal bulls of old.

Today, the council is still being examined all over the world. Even though the council itself did not destroy the Traditional Tridentine Latin Mass, many people believe it did. It did not, the council clearly stated the importance of the Latin in the Liturgy and the preservation of those Liturgical traditions. But the council did indeed lay the ground work for Pope Paul VI's Novus Ordo Mass of 1969.

I firmly hold that Vatican II has been the catalyst for the destruction of the Holy Church for these past 50 years. The sinful ideas of liberalism, progressivism, and modernism introduced in Vatican II has steadily brought the Holy Church to be almost protestant.

Today though, It seems that these horrors are slowing down and that slowly but truly we are seeing a rebirth of tradition by way of Summorum Pontificum, and traditional fraternities like the Fraternal Society of St. Peter (FSSP), and the Institute of Christ The King Sovereign Priest.

I pray that the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI will continue in his fight for a return to tradition and the acknowledgement of the dangers of modernism and the liberalism that took hold of the Holy Church with the opening and the documents of the council.

Bring It Back: The Papal Tiara

The Papal Tiara is the symbol of the Papacy, it's the symbol of the successor of St. Peter's temporal power. The tiara represents the pope's power, which was given to him by our Lord Jesus Christ. Bring it back! It was terribly wrong for Pope Paul VI to abandon the tiara after his coronation. I pray that The Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI decides to wear it again, and revive this great Catholic tradition.
