The Ring of The Fisherman
The Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI wears his Fisherman ring on a daily basis. Traditionally, popes have rarely worn their Fisherman Rings, but instead chose to wear Episcopal Rings. Popes generally only used these rings to seal official Papal documents.

Roman Mitre
This is His Grace, Bishop Sample who ordained several men to the Holy Priesthood just a few weeks ago for the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest. It is wonderful to see these beautiful vestments return indeed!

The Good Old Days
Image from the internet.
This was American Catholicism at one of it's greatest points.
Remember when there was an abundance of Priests and vocations to the Priesthood? Now we are fortunate if our respective parishes have one Priest or a Priest that serves two parishes.
Thank God that the traditionalist societies like the FSSP and the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest are our Holy Church's future.
The societies are producing tremendous new young and holy priests for us. I pray that young men continue to answer the call to serve Holy Mother the Church!

Beatification and Canonization
As I'm sure many people know, there have been rumors surrounding the Holy See that say that we are very likely to see the Beatification of both Pope Paul VI and Pope John Paul I as the Year of Faith begins.
Pope Pius XII, I would say should also be on that very short list.
The notions that Pope Pius XII did nothing during the Second World War to protect and save innocent Jews from Nazi oppression, are completely false. Pope Pius XII was a Saint, this I belief firmly. He has already been declared Venerable, but his cause for Beatification and Canonization has stalled. I would hope that the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, and even the Holy Father himself, will recognize the Saintly works of the great Pius XII.

The Papal Throne
I hope to see in the near future, the current pope, Benedict XVI, employ this throne of Pius IX as his predecessors like Paul VI have in the past.

Joseph Ratzinger ~ Pope Benedict XVI
These images are of our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI, when he was a young priest just after his ordination in Freising, Germany. The young Joseph Ratzinger was ordained priest the same day as his older brother, Georg Ratzinger was on June 29, 1951. Pray for our Pope Benedict so that he may continue his priestly duties for many years to come. Viva il Papa!
Father Michael McGivney
Above is the late, great, Father Michael McGivney, born of Irish immigrants in the United States in 1852. He was simply a parish priest who did his priestly duty day after day in his two parish churches. When Father McGivney was a child, his dream was to become a Catholic priest. As soon as he could, he entered seminary and eventually attended several before his ordination. In 1877 he was ordained by Cardinal James Gibbons of Baltimore.
As he served as a parish priest in the Hartford Diocese in Connecticut, he saw the need for a fraternal orginization for Catholic men to participate in. So, in 1882 in the basement of St. Mary's Church, Father McGivney founded the Knights of Colombus.
Father McGivney is the ideal parish priest. He was a simple man, whose faith in God and the Catholic Church never wavered. Follow his example, and pray for him.
Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney, Pray for us!

The Papal Tiara
Pope Paul VI's decision to abandon the Papal Tiara was a devastating decision on his part. His Holiness never should have done such a thing. His thinking was that it would show the Church's sensitivity to the poor. But, instead it has inadvertently helped in the disunion of Catholics around the world. Cardinal Spellman the Great (above) purchased the Tiara in order to make sure that it was kept safe and preserved.
It is imperative to restore this ancient Papal symbol which represents the Pope's power on Earth, and the Holy Trinity. I pray the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI restores the Papal Tiara.

Going on Vacation
For the last two weeks I have had the great plessure to be in Cape Cod, Massachusetts with my family. And the last two sundays, I was fortunate to have attended the Latin Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis. This was the parish church chosen by Joseph and Rose Kennedy after they purchased their home there in the 1920s.
The church was extremely beautiful, if you ever have the opportunity to attend Holy Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, I highly recommend doing so. It's a wonderful place to pray. The link to the church is provided below.

To Be a Priest
To be called to the Holy Priesthood is an incredible blessing. If you believe that you are truly being called to a life of service and love for Christ and His Church, listen to God intently, reflect and pray. Don't let it slip through your hands. Follow in the foot steps of Saints!
